Christmas, or xmas as they say in Japan, har been a retail driven tradition. Although Japan only has a few million Christians, Tokyo is one of the most beautiful Christmas decorated capitols in the world December every year.

So what about Christmas food in Japan? Home made Japanese Christmas dinners are not based on any tradition, but some Restaurant china, such as Wendy’s or KFC have successfully introduced Xmas menus and somehow created a habit for some Japanese. 

The most successful tradition is still the xmas cake that Japanese kids expect during the holiday season. Xmas cake can be bought anywhere and are decorated with Santa Claus, Pokemon, Ultraman or any other commercial figures.
